Elma (pop. 3,105)
Elma is located between Montesano and McCleary and is equidistant from Aberdeen
on the west and Olympia on the east (about 25 miles). Because it is adjacent
to the
East County Industrial Park and in convenient to the Satsop Development Park,
Elma’s population is growing steadily.
Elma is home to the Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds that host rodeos, animal
shows, live-stock events, dances, concerts, festivals, conventions and trade
shows
throughout the year. The county fair is held during the second week of August
and
features top-rated performers, a carnival, auto races and 200 commercial and
educational displays. Also located in Elma is the Oaksridge Public Golf Course.
The
town is full of historic murals depicting its heritage as a trading village.
